Background:
Started in 1995. Finished in 1998.
In 1998 the Council solicitated the reformulation of the Plan,
which was concluded in 2001.

Area of intervention: 21 hectares.

The targeted area of this Detailed Plan includes a set of architectural buildings of great patrimonial value. The targeted area finds itself within the protection area defined for the Fábrica-Escola dos Irmãos Stephens, classified as a public interest building. Adjacent to the gardens of Irmãos Stephens' residential buildings, the Plan proposes a creation of an Urban Park.

It is also proposed a creation of an habitational zone and other facilities, including a Cultural Centre / Municipal Auditorium and the new facilities for the Municipal Council.
