.In an urban point of view, the Old Part of Portimão is an interesting place thanks to its relation with the river Arade, its roads and architectural buildings. This creates a unique landscape that unfolds into a smooth slope.

The Municipal Council deemed necessary the requalification of this area, which motivated the elaboration of this Detailed Plan.
