MASTERPLAN OF HERDADE DA COMENDA, SETÚBAL

Background:
Started in January 2008. The masterplan was handed in to the Municipal Council of Setúbal in February 2009.

Herdade da Comenda is situated near the city of Setúbal, in the northern bank of the river Sado. Confined to the west with the sierra of Arrábida, to the south of the Atlantic Ocean/Estuary of Sado and to the east of the City. The author of the project of the Palace of Comenda is Arch. Raul Lino.

The project includes:

- A boutique-hotel of 5 stars, built within the Palace of Comenda;
- A hotel of 5 stars;
- Around 390 units of touristic accomodation, including “branded units”; touristic apartments and other units for residential-tourism;
- Other facilities: community park of the beach, conference centre, residential club, restaurants, shops, biological agriculture centre, spa/health club, children’s club;
- A construction area total of 110.000 m2 and the maximum indice of construcion being 0,02.
