Background:
Started in February 2004.

The area of intervention ocupies in its totality around 1746ha and correspondes to the area covered by the urban perimetre defined for the city of Torres Vedras including the population centres of Matos Velhos, Boavista/Olheiros and Barro.

The Plan has as principal objectives:
- Plan and program for the urban growth and requalify the functional structure;
- Define an ecological structure adequatefor the necessities of the population whilst contributing to a harmonious integration with the surrounding natural areas;
- Preserve, retrieve, and protect the existing cultural heritage;
- Better the road-infrastructural networks, as an urban function;
Define Operating Units of Planning and Management (UOPG´s).
